Job Title: Piano Teacher - Preschool - Grade 12Employment Status: Hourly Part Time Non-ExemptReports to: Director of Fine ArtsPrivate Music Lesson ProgramJob Summary: Private lessons are given during the school day, so teachers must be able to coordinate lesson times that do not conflict with essential classroom learning blocks. A schedule of allowed times will be provided at the beginning of each school year, but due to the sometimes-fluid nature of classroom schedules as well as enrichment days, flexibility is required. Weekly practice directions and frequent communication with parents are expected of studio teachers to ensure the progress of students.Qualifications:Highly engaging, enthusiastic, and motivational teacher with a desire to build strong relationships with students and their families.Must be a committed Christian who is comfortable in a multi-denominational Christian community.Requirements:Degree(s) in Piano Performance and/or Music Education with experience teaching in a private piano studio.Strong communication and technology skills.Desired: Experience teaching the Faber & Faber: Piano Adventures Curriculum for ages 5 and older and/or Andrea Dow: Wunderkeys Method for ages 3-5. Ability to transition older students from the Piano Adventures method into music that compliments their individual interests while supplementing with fundamental etude and scale books. CHCA is an equal opportunity employer.
